Default Trim automation above plus 12?

Hi All,

I was mixing on an Icon for the first time last week, I am normally on Pro Control. I've noticed blue lines and dots on the level automation line which I understand means I've tried to go above the plus twelve maximum (I was running in Trim mode not realizing I had hit plus twelve, and was trying to go above).

When the Trim coalesced those moves above plus twelve, it seemed to change levels before and after that area dramatically on that particular aux fader. On the Icon with that particular computer you can click on the level dot and it actually showed +14, +15 etc in areas with the blue lines. I loaded the same mix on a different computer with the Pro Control system, and those same dots were indicating +12.

Sound familiar? Anything I should do or not do to avoid this? (of course other than the obvious answer of not mixing so loud as I need to go above plus 12!.........lol)

In advance, Thanks...............Andy Daddario

Not to worry. We have to store extended values "under the hood" in order to keep the relative values of grouped or VCA-controlled faders. This also applies to pan values, since we now have grouped relative panning.

I agree that it's not the most elegant thing (the blue and the high numbers), but it works quite well, actually.
