re-linking files
OK here's the problem. We mixed our songs for about 3 months, and I backed up the session files only. The drive with the mixes then died completely. Luckily we have all of the audio files on another computer, so we can re-link them with the session files... But for some reason this seems really tedious, going track by track, and it doesn't even seem to work. Is there any way to do this easily?

Re: re-linking files
You could try creating a new session. Then, over in the audio playlist click the drop down menu. From there, select import audio. This will bring in the audio to your playlist. Highlight all of the audio and simply drag it into the mix area. You should see the wave forms as soon as you drag the audio. I can't remember if you have to set up all of the tracks prior to dragging them, or if it will create them automatically.
I know, however, that I have done this in the past and it worked very quickly and easily. Stormy |
