clip gain
hi there, I don't know how to explain this one.
I use clip gain all the time but I don't understand the behaviour in the session I got. When I clip gain I get an "alternative symbol" with a triangle and it's behaving like "TRIM" Why? How can I change that?

Re: clip gain
will do...
just found this on the same subject but no solution. https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=338558 as somebody said Clipgain is doing a "relative" change hmmm... seems to be... "Coalescing clip gain to volume automation" but where's the option to choose to do that. Some tracks do and some don't

Re: clip gain
Things to check:
1-look at the Clip Gain menu to see if you have the correct settings(View menu>Clip sub-menu). The attached screen shot shows the settings I use. 2-step #1 for "odd behavior" is to trash prefs, and this sounds "odd" to me

Re: clip gain
If you have made some audiosuite treatment on the clip with let say a clip gain at 6db, then after you have this trim clip gain. If you don’t want this, you have to reset the clip gain value before doing anything with your clip

Re: clip gain
thanks for every answer - S.isidore you where nearly right. I was able to reproduce what I did.
1. selected a part of a track an clip gained it with the mouse wheel without cutting that region and with the clip gain line off. 2. later, with the clip gain info symbol I reduced the gain of the entire track and I got that "TRIM" triangle because I have different values within that same track so nothing odd
