How to Import a Comp Vocal into ProTools
I think it's kinda weird that I haven't done this yet, but here I go.
I took a little trip and had some vocal coming I had to do for a client. I rendered a stereo mix down of the instrumental and then created created a duplicate session with just the instrumental and the 5 vocal takes I cut for each song. While on the road I comped up vocals for several songs, each song had 5 takes of the lead vocal parts. So now I'm back home, and I wanna import the comp back into ProTools. I'm up to speed on consolidating the region and then just importing that back in. But I'd rather import the comps as is so I can edit later, and have a road map of which take they came from. Technically the files are already in the master session. I didn't do any rendering or audio suite stuff, so they are just comps from whole files. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks so much for any help.

Re: How to Import a Comp Vocal into ProTools
Import the session data from the session where you comped the vocals, and choose just that comp track.

And make sure you select you want the alternate playlists from that track. That should import everthing into the one session from the other as is.

Many thanks to you both. I never thought it could be that easy. But sure enough... Digi/Avid has thought of everything.
