The General Troubleshooting tips are for all or most versions of Protools and are not specific just to one cs update hence are not necessaril included in the update notes. Here on the DUC, these tips have been collected over time and posted into the sticky thread for all to see. It is a common practice nowadays to post information on the web for people to search. One can consider it a waste of time to search for information on the web but that is how things are done with the Internet. From the tone of your posts, it sounds like you don't care to follow those tips. They really are a good collection of tips contributed by many experienced users and Digidesign technical people over time and have helps many over the years. It doesn't address everything, but does cover the most common issues and settings.

Default Re: 8.0.3 and 8.0.3cs1 Update Issues

Hi,

since updating to PT 8.0.3 and cs1 I really have hard times

PT crashes at least every hour with error messages: -9019 and -9031

I deleted Digi Setup, updated to OSX 10.5.8, removed all 3rd party
plugs from the plugins folder - nothing changed

In PT 8.0.1 everything worked find

Any help?

Mr.O

Are you running this with a movie ? If yes, the problem is PT crashing when it opens it.

Make a "HIDE movie" folder on your video drive, place the movie there and you should be fine to relaunch: PT will flag it as missing, let it search for it automatically and it should open correctly.

8.0.3/cs1 is a shambles (dozens of bugs, glitches, things that don't work anymore, both in LE and HD)-as soon as I went back to 8.0.1 everything went back to normal..

Good luck,
Benny.

Thanks for the tips I do work with video and other times only with sound. However, I can't even get as far as launching any kind of session. Even when I launch from the PT icon it quits before anything seems to start.

I've gone back to 8.0.3. Things are fine. I will update when Digidesign gets it right. It looks like I'm not alone.

Paul

Sorry you don't like my tone. I have followed the tips in the past and often they worked. I am also familiar with the common practice of posting tips on the Internet.

My point is, I am paid to edit sound, not spend my days reading through mounds of discussion group messages or trying one "might-work" fix after another.

From what I can tell by some of the other threads about this update, I just might get this cs to work only to find it crashing on one plug-in after another. I don't have time for that crap. I have work to do.

I will stick with PTLE 8.0.3 until I hear news of an update that works.

(And yes, I am aware of the fact I am wasting time right now by complaining, so, I'm going back to work.)

I've expereinced the same issue with Reason 4, glad to hear there is a fix in the works.

Reason 4 does work via ReWire, though I was wondering if you were having as many (-6086) error instances as I have.

No matter how high I set my H/W Buffer Size and CPU Usage Limit in the Playback Engine, I am still experiencing MUCH MORE FREQUENT "operating system held off interrupts for too long" errors than I had before PT8.

The new "Ignore Errors During Playback" option helps some but not optimally.

I'd be very interested to hear your experience with this using Reason 4 in PT8.0.3 via ReWire on your system with twice the RAM than I'm using...

Good evening DigiTechSupt (Administrator)..How are you? Hope all is well What is the status on resolution to the issue I reported? "I installed\upgraded Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 and 8.0.3cs1 updates on Mac Pro with Mac OS X 10.5.8 installed. I am connected to a Digidesign Digi 002 Rack. After the installation of Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 and 8.0.3cs1, the audio output for the Digidesign HW 002 has a red X and I can not use the Digidesign Digi 002 Rack as an audio playback device for Reason 4.0.1. I would like to also mention that a folder called "CoreMIDIServer.framework" opens in the dock and stays open until I force it closed. I've never had this problem with Pro Tools LE 8.0.1..It started after the installation of updates Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 and 8.0.3cs1" Thanks again for your assistance and I hope a resolution will be coming soon...
