Default Hard disk requirements (system drive) PTLE

I have a fairly basic question, and I have searched high and low, but cannot seem to find this:

How much hard disk space is required on the *system* drive (not the audio drive) for installing:
PT LE 8 including all standard plug ins
Virtual instruments (separately, or "Box Set" in total)?

I have a black Macbook with a 140 GB drive, but with standard applications, iTunes, etc., I only currently have 40 GB available, and I'm sure some space is needed as "work space", so I wouldn't want to fill the entire 40 GB, of course. On the flip-side, I could uninstall some apps, such as iLife ones.

Can anyone direct me to this basic requirement info?

Thanks,
Terry

I don't have the exact number, but I know it's not 40 gigs. MAYBE 2, but not 40.

If you D/L the installer, it is about 4gb, but that can go on an external disk.

Most of that is sounds for the VI's, which can be put on an external disk, too. (you might need to move the folders after installation, I don't remember)

But beware that you are approaching the 2/3 to 3/4 full point.. HD performance falls off after that.

Also, your Macbook has a slower drive to begin with, and it does get used during normal usage for virtual memory.. You would do well to free up some space if possible
