Default Tell SSL, let them know we need Duende Native AAX !

I saw this over at http://protoolsexpert.squarespace.co...aax-but-w.html

Quote:
SSL Have No Plans To Port Duende Native Plugins To AAX - But We Can Change That !
It is important to spread the word, and to send SSL your demand !

Here is what they wrote back to me ...

Quote:
Thank you for your correspondence.

We are listening to our customers and you can be assured that your request has been logged - if demand is high enough, we will consider the development of AAX Duende Native plug-ins.

Regards

SSL Service

Lets make them do it !

Done. From SSL ...

I commented on something similar on an IdeaScale thread, and while I don't wish to pick on Gemylon, his post contains an "attitude" that is unfortunately becoming all too common...

It is important to spread the word, and to send SSL your demand !

"Demand"? "Make them do it"?

I hate to break this to you guys, but the people who make decisions in large companies don't generally respond well to "demand(s)" or "mak(ing) them do it".

May I suggest that, if you really want something to be happen, you drop the "fiery" rhetoric and present SSL with a polite and well-reasoned request...

JFTR: I don't own any SSL products (although a 2,000 fader Duality is on my "lottery list") so I really don't have a dog in this hunt. I'm just trying to help you guys get what you want. And again, apologies to Gemylon for any slights...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Personally I found nothing wrong with gemylon's wording. Nothing 'fiery' about it. I don't play so-called 'politcally correct' language. And remember that some words have a different meaning to different people depending on local or national usage.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your input.
I can easily see your point.
And I appreciate your good intentions here.

Now, I don't think my post was actually 'fiery', and it was of course NOT intended that way, but of course you might see it otherwise, as musicman691 pointed out ...

However when I wrote to SSL regarding the AAX upgrade they sent me this reply :

Quote:

So I guess if it is done in a nice way, it is ok to use demand in this setting

Regarding the

Remember how Avid said that third-party interfaces such as SSL or Lynx HD-ported products won't work? ....
*facepalms*

Big difference in not supported (not tested and avid not doing the work for them to make their product work on PT) to not working (as in avid actually placing codes in the software to prevent third parties interfaces of working).

But in any case I did sent them a little email stating that I too am looking forward for them to port their plugs and also hoping to see them do some dsp for their non VI plugs.
