Default Is 8.0.1 Reliable with HD2, Leopard, and G5?

Hi.

I'm still running an HD2 system v.7.4 in Tiger and I'm quite happy. Although I'm considering moving to Leopard and PT Version 8.0.1.

Who out there is running a similar system? Is this a stable setup?

Thanks.

I have the same system, and this weekend did the update to Leopard and PTHD 8.0.1. It took awhile because I had a snag while installing Leopard. Eventually, the install and subsequent updates (I'm on 10.5.5) worked, and PT8 seems to be humming along nicely, sessions all day yesterday went well.

We've been on OS 10.5.8 for quite awhile, running PT 8.01cs2 on 4-G5s that are 6-years old. No problems at all!!

One system is an HD2, the other 3 are HD1.

Thanks for the positive news. Is it safe to say I should go with 10.5.8 and 8.0.1cs2?

Thanks.

two rigs, HD3 and HD2. OS 10.5.8, PT 8.0.1cs2, G5 (don't know specs, i think quite old), no problems.

in fact many problems fixed from the old 10.4 and 7.4 rig, but that's prob just fixing the bad install rather than actual 10.4 and 7.4 issues.

as an OS, 10.5 is much better than 10.4 for everyday things, especially networking.

Yes. Rock solid for audio work.
Make sure your plugins are 1000% compatible. REMOVE all non-compatible plugs from your plugins folder.

Default Re: Is 8.0.1 Reliable with HD2, Leopard, and G5?

my issues are less about stability/reliability -- how's the midi by the way?
(i've stated more times than i care to really)

but more about

GUI darkness dreary vibe and

certain "go to" plugin incompatibility mainly my TDM UA bundle

it would be quite frustrating to re vamp a lot mixing progress commitments of projects i am spending a lot of time on both of my own personal CD and a client who i have 8 CDS in the can on and really are not nailed down with final final mixes...

i want to be able to revisit my past work and not have to change what i already love because of a software upgrade....someday i will but not now.

i choose to hold THAT TIGER fast on 7.4like a big dog.
