Long Sessions / Live Concert Multi-Tracking
Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions for multi-tracking live concerts, that last 1hr +. I have a 003, and do a lot of live, on-location recording. I feel that it is always best to stop the record in between every song - and save the session. This way, if there is an error or a software/laptop crash - all the preceding audio files are in-tact for an easy recovery. However, I recently did a job where the band didn't want to wait the time that it would take for me to stop/save/re-start the recording. So I just let the playhead roll for 1 hr. What would of happened if there were a crash at 40 min?!? - Would I have lost all my preceding audio? - I know you can save the session during recording... does this help? - Is there a way to do some sort of "insert track" function - like on a cd recorder. Where the record keeps going, but new files have been created for each track? Any advice for multi-tracking long band sets (with some sort of safety option in case of a crash) is appreciated. Thanks, GeeLo |
