Hi!

What about the Lexicon PCM Native Effects? Are they "good"?

I have never tried them. Perhaps I should demo those.

Is there a delay plugin that does random delays?

EDIT : Just realised I'm referring to the PCM Native Reverb below and not PCM Effects, which I've never tried. I'm a fecking idiot sometimes. :)

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I had them recommended to me and I've really, really tried to like them. I've even had a template with all 6 of them. But I don't know if it's just me, or the interface, or the sound, or what, but I invariably end up ditching them and going for something else. But I was never that keen on the PCM70/80 either. But it's not like I'm anti-Lexicon, we used to have a 480 and I always remember that sounding fantastic.

Hopefully someone else will chime in here to completely disagree with me!!

No it’s not just you! I have had the reverb bundle and the effects bundle for quite a while and never used them. I have tried but just don’t like the GUI lay-out and it seem to take much longer to get the sound I wanted. I gave up on them. They also sound very thin and no lushness at all.

I still think the 224XL was the best. I rue the day I sold that thing......I think it went to BonJovi's studio.....

Well, if it happens it'll be in June of the year 2108. So you've got 90 years to wait. It's only 2018 now.

If you were looking for 2018.6, that's not happening. It's July. So if there is a new release, it'll be "2018.7"

I really don't know why this new numbering system confuses people...

I think the way they append the month confuses people. I've never seen a release versioning method like this before. It has clearly created the expectation among some that there is going to be a release every month.

It might be easier if they just append a simple 1, 2, 3, etc., regardless of what month it is. So, we would be on 2014.2 now, since this is the second minor release this year. The next one would be 2014.3, assuming it comes out this year.

no, your ears are correct, i owned ALL the Lexicon hardwares and listened to the software. Still found the 224xl to be the richest, but it did freeze a lot.....

Which is ridiculous. I don't mind the new numbering - if anything, it's easier to remember how long it's actually been since the last update

Some people have been expecting updates every few weeks anyway since Avid introduced the subscription/upgrades plan...
