best pitch shifting plugin for PT in 2023

This would be for pitch shifting entire mixes, instrumentals, stems, single tracks (not necessarily vocals), usually up/down up to two half steps.

I did a quick test and the best I have in my arsenal is still the old Waves Soundshifter Pitch...

Please tell me there's something better that I'm missing out on!

That's what I use as well since I can't afford Serato Pitch 'n Time(which I think is the best option)

I recently discovered that Waves Soundshifter Pitch is pretty amazing.

Best I have in my arsenal too.

Very clean results always.

I have a slew of them and the best sounding option I've heard is X-Form from Avid. It's not cheap at $500 but I got it free as part of my PT Ultimate subscription so there's a chance you could too. My second favorite is Serato Pitch & Time.

interesting, tbh I've never even considered using X-Form in the last 15 years of using PT. Now the first time ever I've let my Ultimate update plan expire last week (have a perpetual license), oh well..

I had both Pitch n Time and X-form. They offer very similar performance, but I much preferred the speed of processing and interface with Pitch n Time.

The problem is that there is no sign Serato will update it going forward and that is one expensive plugin. Even my upgrade fee is 3 times the cost of the Waves equivalent.

yes, that's not gonna have me invest that kind of money if the future is unclear..

I do remember having paid a hefty price for Waves Soundshifter back in the day..

PnT is still the best for a lot of cases IMO. But can't recommend due to reasons above.

I personally haven't liked Xform, it's slow as molasses and I can't predict when it will sound decent and when it won't.

Someone suggested Zplane ElastiqueAAX the last time this topic came up. I haven't tried it yet but probably worth a look.

I was only mildly into X-Form when I had it years ago, but after reinstalling a few months ago it's only been impressive, each time. It does take longer, but I have to think that it takes longer for a reason. In tests we've done, it's often been tough to identify from the original material. It truly does feel more transparent than before. Serato is very good, and I'd be happy with it, but I can almost always tell that the audio has been processed after using it.
