Do we have any roundabout guesstimate when the beta testing will conclude? I'm trying to time the purchase of a Mac Studio and I'd like to get in the sweet spot... between the conclusion of the beta-testing and the release of a new OS.

I know any exact timing can't be had but maybe a sort of educated guess based on past experiences thing can. I haven't needed to follow this very closely in the past.

Well educated guess is next OS will be revealed in june and released later, so you have plenty of time waiting for native support, in case you want to buy a new computer just before new computers are shipped with new OS.

The Jan 13 Antares Auto-Tune Pro X 10.1 release notes say "Apple Silicon Native Compatibility." Does anyone know if that's A)thru Rosetta or 3)Native in Pro Tools 2022.12?

I emailed Antares support for clarification. No reply yet.

Apple Silicon Native will mean not through Rosetta, but native. But whether that's AAX Apple Silicon Native or only Apple Silicon Native for other formats like AU and VST is the real question (which I don't know the answer to).

Here is my reply from Antares Tech Support

Thanks for reaching out.

AAX M1 native support is not yet available for our plugins since the feature is still in beta state. It will be implemented after a fully featured M1 native Pro Tools version is released.

Feel free to get back to us if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Antares Tech Support

Wow, what a crock of *****. They're merely deflecting blame for their own lethargy. Most other developers aren't hiding behind this false excuse. Antares has always been an odd company in my experience.

They had two years to get it together and didn't I don't use their stuff anyway, but a lot of companies sent corporate replies. blah blah. I am fine with Rosetta for now and jamming away fine with my new Mac, which made the biggest difference for me. Most companies at least got started. The ones that did not are going to be left to their own to get it together.
I had once company tell me to just use Reaper and that is was easier to implement and cheaper. .. Ahh. Right..zzz

It's really great that weak developers like these are so nice about replying and letting folks know that they absolutely should not ever ever buy product from them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Exactly.

Had they just been honest it would have gone a long way toward restoring faith. Instead, they provide a silly excuse insulting to our intelligence.
