Please visit the following link for demonstrations:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/prot...=group_comment SOS... SOS... (Please watch the video I attached demonstrating the issue) I feel like I am losing my mind here. I just need someone to confirm whether this is normal behavior or not, because I don't recall having this issue: When I have a track playing by itself i.e. a bass track, and I start and stop playback I get a little click/pop sound. This does not happen in Logic or any other DAW that I use for that matter and I am just wondering if anyone can humor me and run a quick 2 minute test to tell me if this is normal? Thanks in advance! Please watch the video I attached demonstrating the issue. |

Hi friend , no this is not normal . Can you post here your system specs and PT info .
I had that behavior in the past with my old 003 mixer and it was a problem related to the audio driver and FW driver . Let us know your specs and we can go from there . ![]()

What happens if Transport Fade-In is enabled in the transport bar and set to, say, 100msec?

If Rich's suggestion does not work...
Way more info and basic standard toubeshooting needed here. Start at the "help us help you" link up the top of every DUC web page. Lots of stuff there for you to do. Make sure you system is *fully* optimized, every last thing. Trash prefs. *Always* trash prefs when you have a problem. Tell us what details of your system. If Windows post a Sandra report. What drives is the session on? (name in the Sandra report or describe the drive if on a Mac). When did this start happening? What did you change? Automatic OS update? What is the playback engine IO buffer size set to. Try increasing it to a very large size. Disable "ignore errors" if it was checked I hope that causes a AAE crash... what exact error do you get now? Enable disk cache (set it to a size not "normal" or whatever they have there). Disable dynamic plugin processing while you are there. Does this happen in other sessions? With a new empty session? From a new admin user account? What interface are you using? try a different one/built-in output in a mac etc. Interface driver version? |

It is DC offset. Because it only happens as you start or stop playback it is not going to be clocking etc. There is DC in that bass line.
See these posts http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=193739 http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=349356 Hope that helps, Mike |

Yes, exactly, hence the suggestion to try enabling transport fade-in. I suspect there's nothing wrong here - starting/stopping on DC or long-wavelength/high excursion waveforms approaching DC will create a transient or 'pop'. The fact that "other DAWs don't do it" may mean they're implementing a fade-in (ala transport fade-in), or they're not reproducing the transient correctly for some other reason.

I'm having the same issue, just switched to a new Mac Studio (running Ventura), never had this issue on my old system.
Did you find a fix? I did the fade -in , trying to get used to it, but still doesn't help with the pop/click when i stop playback |
