Hi Guys,
I'm hoping for some information regarding the dual buffer feature that launched with PT11. Like Logic (and much more recently, Cubase as well), PT11 now has separate buffers for recording and playback. This means that you can record tracks in realtime (either audio using effects, or virtual instruments) with a very low buffer (of say 32 samples), which you can choose in PT11's preferences menu, while tracks that are being played back are run at a much higher buffer so that CPU resources are kept to a minimum for non-realtime tracks. All of this is then delay compensated so that everything syncs up! My question is... what is the size of the playback buffer? In Logic, the buffer is manually configured at either 512, 1024 or 2048 samples (in the "Process Buffer" preference), while in Cubase turning on ASIO guard delivers a playback buffer of 4 x the chosen record buffer (eg if you chose a record buffer of 64 samples, the playback buffer will be 256 samples). I have looked everywhere for a previous post on this forum that provided this info for PT11, but have had no luck finding it! I'd be grateful to anyone who can chip in with the answer! Cheers, Mike

Plugin buffer is always 1024, you set the input buffer in the Playback Engine Dialog.

And it's 2048 at sample rates of 88 or 96k, which is basically equivalent to 1024 at 44/48k.
