PT 7.1cs8 installler doesn't update .exe file!

I previously had PT v7.1cs7 installed, and I want to update to the just released PT v7.1cs8 update.
So I just downloaded and ran the installer for PT v7.1cs8 on Windows XP. According to the Read Me file, it should install the follwong two items:

ProToolsM-Powered.exe (version 7.1cs8)
DFW.dll (version 7.1cs8)

I have properly run the installer, it finishes normally and states the update was installed successfully, and then I restart. Just as the instructions say to do.

However, afterwards, if I go to the Program Files folder and find the "Pro Tools M-Powered.exe" file, and right click, choose properties and then click the "Version" tab, it shows:

"File Version 7.1cs7"

The .dll file (DFW.dll) is correct and shows "File Version 7.1cs8"

So it appears the installer properly updates the DFW.dll file but NOT the .exe file???

Can someone from Digidesign clarify if this is improper or what is the case here? I would like to be able to correctly run version 7.1cs8, not 7.1cs7.

I just checked this and what you're seeing is correct - the .exe file will still show cs7, while the DFW.dll will show cs8.

Thanks for the prompt reply! So, I am still getting the bug fixes and actually running cs8 even though the .exe shows 7.1cs7?
