Keyboard lost communication w/dialog boxes inPT7.0

Hey everyone,
I was doing a film mix on Sat. and my Apple keyboard lost all communication/control with dialog boxes in PT 7.0.

I was wondering if any of you have encountered this problem w/PT7, and if so, did installing a newer cs update fix it? I haven't seen anything addressing this issue, unless I overlooked it.

Symptoms:
could not input text into fileds (track/marker renaming, entering in comments, parameter amounts for plug-ins)
could not use enter to close dialog boxes

The keyboard still worked for doing short cuts.

After I discovered this, I quit PT, did all the typical trashing of prefs, repaired disk permissions, and rebooted. Everything was fine for a little while, then it happened again.

Sunday it did not happen once during our 10 hours of mixing (on the exact same session), everything worked great.

System Specs:
Power Mac G5 Dual 2.0 gHz, 4gb of RAM, OSX.4.3, HD3 Accel, 96i/o, Control 24 (has most recent firmware version, connected directly to ethernet port on G5), PT HD 7.0.
This was the first time I have ever encountered this on any system.
The only new and recent change to this system has been the addition of the C24.

On a side note, on Sat. (while working in that previously mentioned session) I also encountered two quits with PT, no "the application PT unexpectedly quit" dialog, the PT screen just dissappeared, and the C24 went offline. I also got "lost communication with the C24... please power cycle..." dialog twice as well. Sunday, no problems at all.

Hopefully I have provided enough info, anything else, please let me know.

Hello Ron,

Any reason why you're still at version 7 and not upgraded to 7.1 with the latest updates and fixes from cs8! this might help.

A reinstall of PT would help if there's a corrupt file. its quick and easy to do, using the safe uninstall option from your CD/web installer. this just uninstalls the PT software and digi rack plugs and leaves everything else as it was, just reboot and then reinstall PT.

Hey Chris,
Up until now my rig has run great, with no problems. I like to stay with a version once I have found it to be stable for me. I will be persuing an upgrade here as soon as I can set some time set up to do so.

Just a dumb question, you didn't have any Waves plug ins open? as they take over your keyboard unless you hit the ESC or click into the edit window.

Thought I'd mention it, although I believe your error probably derives elsewhere.
