Avid Omni and Cranborne ADAT and 4 analog IN/OUT
Hi can the Avid Omni connect to a Cranborne ADAT for 8 channels of IN/OUT and still use the 4 analog input and outputs?

Re: Avid Omni and Cranborne ADAT and 4 analog IN/OUT
The Omni only does 8 channels total, so you could do 4 adat and 4 analog, or 8 adat.

Re: Avid Omni and Cranborne ADAT and 4 analog IN/OUT
You're hard limited to 8 outputs with the omni, but you can bring up any number of inputs in the hardware mixer and route them directly to the monitor path and/or cue output, even if they aren't defined as inputs in your pro tools i/o setup.
I use this to monitor my system audio via spdif, and various adat inputs when I just want to listen to them but not necessarily record. The only (slightly) annoying part is that the hardware mixer setup / controls are in pro tools and not in a separate hardware setup application.
