It might work to some extent, but will never be supported

To some extent means your mileage may vary if you try to use unsupported PT/OSX combination. Once 12.6.1 is out, go with it and enjoy Sierra

First someone needs to send updated licence or licence bundle to your iLok account, and the surrendering part means iLok will remove the old license or license bundle before they add the new updated one.

So in this case I guess you need to log into your Avid Account and check if your support plan is active. If it is, there might be a link to ask for license refresh or if not, ask Avid Support to send you updated license(s). I don't really remember how it goes, but Avid needs to send the updated license to iLok before you can log into your iLok account for a license swap.

I cannot see what is on your Avid Account or on your iLok Account, so if your iLok doesn't have proper licenses then you need to contact Avid Support. In case you have active support plan, it doesn't cost you any extra.
