Re: Please Weigh In: To Bass Manage or Not To Bass Manage, that is the question.
Our Genelecs are the 8200 series with DSP built into the sub to handle all processing. Using their GLM software, it runs through complete setup, including eq and time-alignment for each speaker.
The satellites are all calibrated at full spectrum. Then you calibrate the phasing and crossover of the sub to one or more of the satellites for best response. I tend to crossover at 70Hz, which sounds the best in this particular room. Once that's done, all 5.1 info is great. Bypassing the BM of the sub returns the satellites to full spectrum and only send LFE info to the sub. Our staff are very accustomed to the sound, and mixes, so far, have translated very well!
