Default MIDI NAME FILES OR MIDI DEFINITIONS

I have searched this site and the web for tips on where to download midi definitions. I have a korg triton, emu mo phatt, and a motif. Does anyone have these files or a link to a site I can download them? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I upgraded to 6.7 and never got the midiname files to work...or never really knew what to do with the file....besides all the files I found were MAC version.

How do I know what files will work and what won't and where do I copy the files to?

I'd be stoked if I could get the voice names to display instead of the number!

midnam files are xml; they are cross platform. You may have found versions that were in a MAC stuffit compressed file, but the files themselves are just text files.

On a windows machine, midnam files go in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\MIDI Patch Names

and to make it work, you also need a matching middev file which would go in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\MIDI Devices

The tech tips link from my other post above describes the syntax of the file, even though a lot of the page relates to where to put the files on the the MAC to make it work (they REALLY need to update this for us windows folk...)
