Default 002R and Digimax Sync problem

I have run the HD system for two years with great success! I recently added the 002R and Digimax LT for remote recordings. I though I knew a little someting about Protools until I tried to get the two to talk. The problem is when I setup the 002R to be the slave and set the Digimax to Master, at any clock rate, the 002R does not see it nor will any of the channels from the ADAT inputs (9-16)display any evidence of a signal when you can see the channel active on the Digimax. The physical connection seems to be correct between the two with the ADAT optical cable coming from the Digimax to the IN ADAT on the 002R.

Hardware settings on the 002R are set to External clock with Adat (this fails and reverts to Internal).

Thank you Thank you in advance!!!

Your ADAT inputs will be 1-8 not 9-16. If you have the Digimax optical out to the DIGI RACK optical in, then your connections are correct. Set the Digimax to internal clock and the DIGI rack to external. Check your I/O settings and make sure your input tab is showing the ADAT ports , if not, re-set to defaults.

Thanks for the help...I was incorrect in explaining that the ADAT ports are port 1-8 on the ADAT and set for tracks 9-16. I was assuming away the newbieness . Even before getting down to allocating ports on the I/O tab the hardware settings will not allow the clock to be set to external with the ADAT set as the clock source.

I would imagine there is a hardware problem. These are very straight forward settings.

Thanks to all who help!

try another optical cable and reset your i/o settings to default.

also, be sure to set your digimax clock rate to match the sample rate of your session in question. i think it fails if the sample rates don't match.

otherwise, it should be stratghtforward. i have a digimax LT which works wonderfully, and its clock works more reliably than the one in 002. if you cannot get it working in another five minutes, just send it back for repair.
