Default more digilink interfaces than HDX ports

Hello, I have an HDX3 system and currently all 6 HDX card ports are fed from two MTRX digilink chassis ports and four ports from 2 MTRX digilink cards.

I would like to integrate an Aurora n 32 with digiiink card installed into this system. If I added an additional MTRX digilink card, could I use it to connect to the aurora and utilize dadman routing and monitoring? Thanks! -Gideon

No, this is not possible. The DigiLink ports on a MTRX device (on the chassis or via expansion cards) need to terminate into an engine card such as HDX, HDN or HDNTB.

best,

Jeff

Can you not swap the Aurora Digilink cards for Dante cards and then have the Aurora's feed into the MTRX over Dante?
This is what I would do.

Thanks for the quick response Jeff.

uta: I actually have things configured now as you describe with a Lynx dante card, but I miss the record delay compensation that comes with hdx connection. I'm going to try aurora direct via digilink to hdx with Dante Via software running on top to retain dante routing options and see how it goes.

I am not sure I understand then.

You have an MTRX with HDX3 and 2 Digilink expansion cards in the MTRX?
That should give you 192 physical IO to HDX.
The Lynx connected to the MTRX via Dante will still allow delay compensation- you just have to calculate the different latencies for hardware inserts which is in the MTRX manual.

Not sure why Dante Via is needed and it comes with a huge latency penalty.
