Default Exporting a Session as Text Playlist

I'm running five PT systems in my business, including the latest, a PT LE 6.9.2 MBox system running on a G4PowerMac with OS X.4 "Tiger". We do a lot of audio for "speaking" machines of various types. This sometimes involves hundreds of little audio files. These all have to be exported and renamed. To save time, I have been using an Apple Script to rename the files.

Problem is, I need to know the original names of the files (i.e. regions) as assigned by ProTools, in the order they appear in a track. This would be easy if the PT AutoRename function named regions in the same order they appear in a track, but it doesn't. It's pretty well useless. Also PT TDM has a nice Export Session as Text function, but PT LE does not. I don't want to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade to TDM just to get this simple function.

Is there a simple way of either getting my play list export or making PT LE behave when doing AutoRename?

Thanks.

Default Re: Exporting a Session as Text Playlist

a couple of years ago I came up against almost this exact problem - I am a voiceover and wanted to email out a long list of my voice files in a session to make the producers life easier

check out my website - have a PT VO studio at home and happy to provide some quality VO for you ;-)

and the answer from the DUC, and eventually digi, was that PTLE cannot do what I wanted...that feature is crippled in the LE version

the only workaround I came up with was Grabbing an image from my PT Edit screen, printing it, and then scanning that in using OCR software...which is a bit insane

good luck
