Crashing when importing session data, saving as, opening sessions, etc.
Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange problem. PT often crashes when I try to import session data, save as, open(change) session, import audio, etc. This is very random and doesn't happen every time but happens 5-6 times per day. Basically when I work on a certain session and try to do any of these actions that requires PT to open the finder window, as soon as I see the finder window pop out, I lose control and PT crashes. Creating a new session or opening session from scratch doesn't crash PT. I'm assuming this is some sort of Mac file system problem or some third party app like dropbox is causing this? I've tried these but nothing helped. *Repaired permission and restarted Mac multiple times *Trashed PT Preferences, AAE Preferences, com.avid.ProTools.plist, Workspace, com.avid.CoreAudioManager.plst. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!! ------------------ Mac OS10.10.5 Protools 12.5.0 Mbox Pro 3 Mac Pro5,1 Mid2010 2x2.66Ghz -6-Core Intel Xeon Ram 64GB 1333Mhz DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB |

Trash prefs, tried again, same thing again twice. Trashed prefs again, still no joy. Gave up and just copied the audio files to a new location and imported them from workspace.

Crash happens when importing(after you choose tracks to import) right? not when the finder window pops up to choose the session file to import tracks from right? I had that before, I found out which track/plugin was causing the crash by importing a few tracks or one track at a time. |

Are you shure that you can run PT12 on Catalina?
And that old graphics card? I don't know, you'll have to check the compatability. |

The problem started a month ago I have no idea what's the cause.. haven't changed any setting or set up. I contacted avid support center so let's see.. |
