Avid Link - Download Error: Pro Tools download failed. Download Error

A few months ago Avid link started failing after updating to PT 2022.7.
I thought it was related to the 2022.8 or 9 problems with saving.
So now with the new 2022.12. I tried to update Pro tools and Avid Link via the Avid link launcher to which it failed.
I tried to uninstall PT, but uninstall failed, first uninstalled Avid link, then all plugins, then i could uninstall Protools.

Next, re-downloaded latest Avid link, then after reboot tried to download PT via avid link, again message
Download Error: Pro Tools download failed. Download Error
I downloaded the latest version of PT from Avids website, the Install failed.

So now i do not have a version of PT on my PC even with a paid for recently repaid Perpetual license.
Can someone offer advice or how to fix this issue or why it is occurring in the first place?

Easy, you are having problems because you are using Avid Link.

The advice many of us follow and widely given on DUC is to uninstall Avid Link every time you install Pro Tools, it has been a buggy and unreliable product. And to me is unfortunate bloatware that I just don’t want on my computers.

You can manually download all your current Avid product installers from the My Products section of your Avid.com account. Or past installers from the Download Center part of your Avid.com account.

Its quite shocking that Avid Link is not working as its designed too.
I will no longer be using Avid Link!
