Automatic Delay Compensation (ADC) Acting Extremely Weird
Pro Tools Carbon
2022.5 mac os 10.15.7 when i engage a hardware insert, any track that is armed and in input mode with hybrid mode on falls out of sync with the track. i have a snare sending out to an analog drum trigger. returning that trigger output to pro tools carbon and input monitoring it works perfectly. dead on timing/phase/etc. however, as soon as I instnatiate a hardware insert on another track in the session the snare trigger falls out of time. extremely weird. anyone else experience this? any suggestions? |

Re: Automatic Delay Compensation (ADC) Acting Extremely Weird
Hardware inserts have a roundtrip latency.
Input enabled tracks have their latency compensation turned off. Your situation makes sense. You can turn your input enabled track to blue mode to restore latency compensation. (but you will have added delay on that track)

Re: Automatic Delay Compensation (ADC) Acting Extremely Weird
i understand what you are saying, but a hardware insert should function similarly to any other insert: when instantiated it reports it's latency and all tracks are compensated, and therefore any input enabled tracks would work properly, relative timing wise.
this works perfect for plugins (software inserts) but for some reason a hardware insert is failing...it seems to be a bug for sure. i know they hybrid engine and ADC has a lot of bugs and issues. this is a new one i haven't seen yet. hopefully they all get resolved. it's super annoying |

Quote:
In HDX (Hybrid), native software plugins on other tracks aren't delay compensated on the input enabled track. No sir. The point is input/record tracks have the shortest latency possible in to out. Latency compensation would add delay. When you take the track out of input/record, it is compensated again. This isn't something that is going to be "fixed" because it is intentional. You can flip the track to blue mode (auto low latency off) if you want latency compensation on an input enabled track. But then that track will have latency.
