Why it won't sound?? Help please.

Hi,

Just wonder why it won't sound while it is playing. I don't know if I need any other softwares(they came with the MBox) to make it works, or there are some extra setups that I have to do. Another question is using the Reason with ProTools, do I really need a MIDI interface or keyboard? Very last and silly question, starts the ProTools first or the Reason?

no, you can draw the notes within PT or Reson with the appropriate pencil Tools.

while it is playing

could you be more specific abou this?
are trying to monitor through the MBOX or try playing back a PT session?

Thank you for answering my questions
I was trying to play back the PT session but it wouldn't sound. The volume shows that it's fine(I mean the light is on). I used the built-in speaker for out-put. H/W buffer size is 512 samples, cpu is 70% and DAE playback buffer is level 2. The session contains 4 stereo tracks and less than a min. Do I need to change any settings in the preference of the computer. Since I just installed the PT, may be I missed one or two settings that may need to change.

If you're using an MBox, then you need to hook it up to external speakers. No version of PT (other than PTFree) will play out of the computer's built-in speakers. If you don't have any speakers available, just plug a set of headphones into the MBox. And don't forget to to have the mix knob turned to playback!

Also, you can create and edit MIDI without an interface, but you'll find it much easier and faster to work with a keyboard or controller.
