Default 2021.12 / Izotope RX / Monterey

2021.12 may not have offered much but Izotope RX9 is working again under Monterey now - at least here!

Cheers,
Pete

RX9 & RX7(used in older sessions) are also working here with 2021.12 (Max OS 12.01)

Nice to know RX 7 seems to work in Pro Tools 2021.12 - for the Mac. I wonder if RX 7 works in the Windows version too.

Anyone having an issue with RX audio suite plugins freezing Pro Tools on Monterey? RX audio editor is working great for me, but many of the audio suite plugs are beachballing PT.

Hope someone has found a solution!

My experience with latest RX on Monterey and an M1 Max MBP has been great.

In all honesty, my experience over the past 3 months with this laptop is absolutely the best Pro Tools experience I have ever had. That includes outrageously expensive HD3 accel film rigs.

Have been editing some classical scores of 32 tracks / 96k all week with RX and not an issue.

Hope that helps.

I appreciate that post. It's become popular on this forum to post about issues with M1 and Monterey but few come here to post their successes, which are important for balance and an accurate scope on the real world. I've heard of a lot of people using M1/Monterey/PT but I don't see it represented here as much.

One day - hopefully soon-ish - I'll be looking at those new M1/M2/M3/MWhatever MacPros that have yet to be announced, and I've only been waiting 8 years for it so it'll be in my shopping cart immediately, and I'll want to know that I can jump to PT asap.

I have to be clear that the transition to M1 was not without its challenges. I am not using this system for composing so synths and samplers were not required, so I was able to test each of my plugins and only install the ones that I needed and worked. It was gratifying to see that the core suite of plugins I relied on all ran fine!

I bought the M1 Max as I also do a far amount of work in XCode so the additional GPU’s were a great benefit. For a Pro Tools system I wouldn’t see these as important and would probably put as much money as I could into largest internal SSD as I can. The ones that ship from Apple are insanely fast, and are perfect for recording my long multitrack sessions to, and post production off them is nuts.

The thing that has really excited me is the fact that the machine makes zero noise and rarely gets hot. So much so, that its now often the main studio mix system that is in the control room and connected via Dante to the monitors and run with an S3 or S1. Its so empowering to be able to have one production machine that slips into my bag.

Also having this issue. Certain audio suite plugins are freezing PT but not all. Connect Plugin and RX editor are working spectacularly however. I have the second the comments in this thread that the M1 (Max in my case) is performing incredibly well and shows immense promise as a workhorse machine down the line.

My theory on AVID's hesitance on M1 Native support is they know the time is nigh that HD-PCI cards are all but obsolete.......

Yes, even on Catalina, though. So, it's RX9+PT causing the issue, not Monterey.
