We've just completed updating 2 of our rooms with ProTools v 2019.5, and as an animation studio, we are required to have PT online chasing TC from beginning to end of session. Previously ProTools v12.8.3 allowed for PT to drop into record in approx. 1 second. Pt v2018.12 had dropped back to 4.5 sec, and currently ProTools 2019.5 is running 3.0 sec to record drop in. We do not use QuickPunch, and have been working this way for years, until these recent PT updates. This is not a hardware issue, since the only variable is the software.
We've verified that the click track count-off is disabled. Tried different drives. Systems Mac Pro (trash cans 2.6gig), OSX 10.12.6, 64 gig DRAM, currently PT 2019.5, also had issue with 2018.12. Any useful thoughts are most welcome! Steve H - LA Studios |
