I just received my Artist control (brand new form Avid as a replacement for a broken one) but in this machine the touch screen is very un-sensitive. It does not respond to normal touch, I have to actually almost tap it (all around the area that I want to activate) and 1/2 the time it does not respond at all. I have not tried to re-initialize the screen calibration because may be there is a 'sensitivity' adjustment somewhere? By the way, this is my 3th avid control unit so I am very familiar as to how it is supposed to respond (mine does not work very well at all).
