Thanks guys! I've had the same fan issue since 1.4 but couldn't figure it out. Logging out and logging back in as "S6 User" solved it for me.
Is there a way to default to "S6 User" when powering up? Seems to be going right to "Admin" for me... |

Not quite sure, but soft-shutting down via the 'About'-menu should afterwards boot again as S6User, whereas cutting power will boot as Admin.

A couple of things here.
The Master Module is designed to be convection cooled. The fan is set to only come on above around 80-85 degrees C to save the hardware and allow for continued use, if for example you are in an OB truck in the desert. So under normal studio operation the fan should be off when the MTMApp is running (it controls the fan, not Windows) but....there have been 2 issues: A limited few early systems had the fan cable not on the correct way and the fan would run continuously. In all versions of software including v1.4.1 the is a bug that makes the fan stay on if the Master Module is powered up from cold.(Power removed for more than 5 secs and put back) 50% of the time the MTMApp software will not shut it off. Possible race condition on boot. Workaround is to log out and back in again, or shutdown the Master Module but leave power connected. We are working on a fix for the next release. |

Running into this problem on a M40...
After updating to the current version (2022.12.1), the fan just stays on after multiple reboots and shutdowns. Used the same installer on another unit next to it without any error. Tried logging out/in as well as re-installing the Master Module installer without success. Please help. Thank you. |

Issue solved. Ended up with two different M40s (out of many) with the same problem and the same steps below resolved it:
- Remove 22.12.1 through the master module installer remove process - Restart Prompt, click NO - install 22.4 master module - Restart Prompt, click YES The second the M40 came back online from the restart, the fan stopped. Then proceed back to admin screen... - install 22.12.1 master module installer |
