Default Pro Tools 9 - Turn off input Monitoring ?

How Do you manage the lack of this feature with external Mixers or 3rd Party interfaces using their bundled Cue mix software?
Very frustrating to Me !!

AVID please ...!

Well, Firstly Vote for it on the Idea Scale Here: (Please vote). We need to get this one making some serious leaps and bounds.

I modded my Tranzport wireless remote for an outboard footswitch where with one push of the pedal two internal contacts are made kicking in record AND mute at the same time in PT9. I already had an old cast iron pedal with two ganged SPDT internal switches on one outside button, so that worked well for this. Actually you can simply do this with just two fingers on the remote's mute and record buttons, but on the floor with a single button is a more handy solution for now.

Hopefully PT will add the "input monitor off" button asap!

This is pathetic. I voted yes on the ideascale.

Is there another more updated thread here?

I don't care what other engineers are doing, but I'm really looking forward to the day when PT finally loses what name recognition it has left with joe musician client.

Most don't care what I'm using anymore, but people are still occasionally bringing in stuff they started at home on PT. PITA!

I do enjoy editing drumkits in PT though, so I gotta give props for that.

If they don't I will be demanding a refund. When the site states that PT9 "works" with a 3rd party interface and you can't turn monitoring off so you don't hear yourself 2 times and out of phase, it means that their concept of ''works'' is seriously misconstrued. Here's one pissed PT9 customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the powers understand this issue now and I'm betting we will see this feature in an upcoming release.

*Yawn*
Sorry, spirits, this is not against you, but I'm getting a bit tired of all the posts which basically say "PT9 is crap, I'm soooo angry, Cubase / Reaper / Logic / whatever-DAW can do this and that and PT9 can't."
I'm even starting to long for the "good old times" where PT9 did not support 3rd party interfaces... No, not really... ;-)
Avid made a good step with PT9, we will see how they continue. But I would not be suprised to see "Input Monitoring Off" in one of the next updates.
Until then: Relax and vote on Ideascale, or use Cubase.
Sorry, no personal offense, just venting a bit of my frustration reading all these "Oh, how can you work with PT, it's such a crap" posts.
Cheers, Andy

Albee, when reading your signature... Do you know the famous yoke about binary systems?

There are only "10" kinds of people in the world: Those who understand binary systems and those who don't.
