PT12 - file size error when bouncing to mp3

I've been having an issue lately when trying to bounce a session to mp3. This is a session I've made a number of mp3 bounces for. Nothing is different, just a different mix without adding any tracks or plugins. After it had been working successfully many times, all of a sudden I'm getting ProTools 'cannot perform the bounce because the file is too large for the supported filetype' (paraphrase).

I tried finding threads on this board for that, and while there are a few threads that deal with this, none of them are for PT12. Has anyone seen this?

Running PT on Windows 7.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

This sounds like a one-off, so I'd start with trashing PT preferences and reboot.

I have, I cold booted the machine twice since the error, but I didn't trash the PT preferences. How would you clear the preferences?

I did just that, but it didn't fix it. This is the actual error I'm getting (and it's making me livid): Could not complete the Bounce To Disk command because the requested file size is too large for the file type to support
It makes me want to never use another Avid product for as long as I live.

Are you able to bounce to a different file format, and then export as MP3 after the fact? It's a potential workaround. I have no idea why you get that error.

Changing output in Bounce window helped me once (to Stereo Monitor from eg. 5.1).
