Default Reason Releases New Physical Modeling VI

Reason has released a new physical modeling VI called Objekt. For those of us who love creating and tweaking our own sounds and sonic landscapes, this looks pretty easy to use and understand. There's also an informative video here that walks through the basics of how Objekt works. For an introductory price of $79 (or free if you subscribe to the Reason annual license), this seems like a good way to break into this kind of synthesis.

What would a guitar made of glass sound like? Or a trumpet made out of PVC pipe? etc etc. PM synthesis is not like any other sort of synthesis and requires a more in depth understanding of how the physical parameters of various materials create resonances and trigger sounds, and all that. But it is a way to get quite imaginative to create unique, never before heard sounds too. Or, to accurately create an actual instrument. Depends on how hard you want to work at it.
