PT 2023.3 is the first native Silicon version available. 2022.12 was a public beta version

A new Mac will come with Ventura pre installed. You will not be able to install anything older than that.

Yosemite? 2014 indeed.

It definitely won’t come with Yosemite. It will come with Ventura.

Oops My bad. Temporary brain overload. Corrected in my OP. Eventually Apple will run out of these majestic California landmark names. In 2025 we’ll have OS Orange County or maybe Lancaster.

Star Trek Lower Decks, an animated comedy Star Trek series, just did a gag about the names of their "California Class" starships (which are the blue-collar, working class, second-fiddle ones). They had names like the USS Burbank, USS Culver City, USS Fresno, USS Inglewood, USS San Jose, USS Sherman Oaks, etc.

It definitely reminded me of the macOS naming system and how they're gonna run out of "cool" place names.

Thank you guys for the tips and deep analysys of the topic. I have one more question, well, it’s related to my main one.

If you were me, would you choose Mac mini 2 pro 16/512 or Mac Mini 2 24/512? Is the PRO worth the sacrifiyng of the 8GB of RAM (in terms of audio/music production)? I’ve seen a dry Logic X test (CPU stress) which showed a test session opened 160 audio tracks in Mac Mini M2 PRO and 80 in Mac Mini M2 (regardless of the RAM amount)

I’ve opened this session on my modified Mac Pro to have 40 tracks…
