Default Constant Loss of HUI Communications....

Its beginning to drive me crazy.....

I run OS 10.2.8, with PT 6.1 and MIDIMAN 1x1 to interface to my Mackie Control on a Dual 800mHz G4, and I swear to God, that I can get MIDI communication to my Mackie Control that lasts for only a few minutes before I get that window that alerts me to the communications failure. Sometimes communications can be recovered by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB connection to the 1x1, but other times it only provides me with a spinning beach ball and the need for a force quit.....

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.....

I had the same problem using a midiman midisport 4x4 and also a midiman midisport 2x2. I also had problems with track names not updating using the digi001 midiports. This was same problem using the Mackie Control AND/ OR MotorMix. The problem is not the Mackie or the MotorMix.

My solution ( after days of trying everything I could think of and contacting every manufacturer and reinstalling OS X) was to buy a new MIDI interface and delete the old driver. I went with the emagic AMT 8 although any of there products should work fine. They are owned by Apple Computer.

No more problems.

I am going through some HUI issues as , everything works on my HUI except the faders, I can pan, use the transport, and all the other stuff, but the faders don't update in Pro tools, but they send midi data when I move them! I just changed my midi interface from a MOTU Midi Timepiece AV to a Midiman 8x8 Midisport, and that didn't change much. Anyone have any other ideas??
