Default Lost communication with the SYNC box.

Hi all.

I have encountered a problem with SYNC box or maybe it is somethig else. For the first, this is list of my equipment:

Mac G5 PowerPC
Mac OS X Tiger
2 x 2.5 Ghz
4 Gb Ram

Pro Tools HD 7.2
Icon D-Control
Expansion Chassis
3 x 192 I/O
Sync box
MIDI box
X Mon

Well, while runing Pro Tools, no matter, recording or playback or even in pause (stop mode), it is sudenly frezes and shows message:

Lost communication with the SYNC box. Check connections and power on SYNC box. Should I set the Sync Peripherial to MTC?

There is 2 bottons: "use MTC" or "Keep SYNC box"
If I press: "Keep SYNC box" there is another message:

Unable to reestablish communication with the SYNC box. To reenable go to the Peripherials Dialog.

There is only one botton "OK".
If I press "OK" there is another message:

The hardware connection to Expansion|HD has been lost. After Pro Tools shuts down please check that all cabeles are properly connected.

There is only one botton "OK".

If I press "OK" there is another message:

Pro Tools experienced an unknown error and must now exit. Would you like to save the session before Pro Tools exit?

There is 2 bottons: "Don't save" and "Save"

If I press any of them, Pro Tools frezes and don't save session. I can close Pro Tools only using Force Quit. Expansion Chasiss remains in ONLINE mode and I can power it down only if I press and hold Power botton for 6-8 secounds.

If you have any idea how can I fix it, please help me. I'll be very thankfull.

If I wrote something incorrectly, please ask if you can't understand. My English is not very good.

Thankyou.

Please start with the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting sticky at the top of this forum, specifically those areas on trashing preference files.

I would also recommend trying a different peripheral cable between the Sync and your HD Core card.

Thankyou. I have just read this thread and found out lots of interesting information. Also I have deleated some unused "Login Items" such as iTunes Helper. And now it works fine. During the whole day there were no problems.

Thankyou again for help.
