1/17/02
I am sure this kind of thread will be rampant in the next few days but...A question...
The university I purchase for was about to (today!) submit an order for 2 mix+++ systems. I put a hold on this order after seeing the flash intro this morning. Does anybody know if this is going to be the kind of product announcement that ends with "will be available 1/17/2003" a very excited CHRIS... |

Re: 1/17/02
I've heard some of the new items in the 1st quarter, others such as the MIDI interface not until the 2nd quarter. But the truth is, until you see it on the shelves or in your studio, you never know.
If you purchase a system after the 1/1/02, your upgrade path will be much friendlier than those of us who have had the gear longer. I would wait. |

Re: 1/17/02
Well, Digi policies have always been:
1. Only shipping product is offically announced, with a few exceptions. 2. There's always an exchange deal for relatively recent gear. (I.E. - not PT3.) 3. The exchange deal is very sweet for the first few months. So, let's just say one can be reasonably confident that these policies won't change. -Eric |

Re: 1/17/02
Kono, I killed a Mix Plus deal yesterday, you should do the same.

Re: 1/17/02
there have been many leaks and projections about the nature of the new Pro Tools. Noone, as far as I am aware, has given any solid information about upgrade paths. Specifically, the pricing structure for this new stuff may well be much different than before. Hence it would be unwise to assume anything about upgrade paths. It may be as before. Or there may not be one at all...
