Static!! Omg

Does anybody please know how to get rid of the static and annoying "shock" like sounds in pro tools. It happens whenever we record, or play back music. Every sounds that goes in/out is running through the M-Audio interface. Everything is loaded on the internal hard drive that came with the comp. We save songs on a seagate external usb.
