Need to record live but can't afford venue yet
Hey all, I need to record live but can't afford a venue system yet. Can I get away with running a 003 rack with a Mac book pro, PT 9, etc...? Thoughts, recommendations?

Different venues, houses of worship mainly. Act size is small, no more than 12 channels. Have a 32 channel mixer/ 6 aux. 2 of those are stereo channels. 4 sub groups. Have 1 rack mount fx unit, 1, 2 channel compressor/limiter. Main concern is recording the worship band and getting the messages on tape.. 1 for raw reference recording for band members for improvement purposes, then to later be mix/ mastered. 2 upload messages onto church website. Looking into getting an HHB dual burn to throw into the rack as well.

The Presonus digital console should work with PT9 and give you all 24 inputs(they also make a 16 channel version). Firewire to your firewire hard drive and daisy-chain to the Mac.

Albee, the presonus only has 4 aux sends... Need more than that to accommodate monitor mix's as well as fx send and compression assignments

Does your board have direct outs?
if so, try the following: 003, Digimax FS or D8. Plug the direct outs into the the digimax and 003, then load up pro tools, and create the season. This set up would allow you 16 channels of analogue into the system. (as always if someone has a better idea or i'm wrong, please tell me)
