Default compatibility with soundcard

I'm a new PTF user, and I have a new g4. My g4 did not come with a built in sound input, as the new ones do not. I purcased a soundblaster live for mac, but cannot get pro tools free to recognise it as a source to pull audio in from, even when I select it in the sound manager. what can I do? In ptf I get a pop sound about every thirty seconds, but it wont recognise any sound. its driving me crazy, my sound card MUST work with this program, its just your basic mac soundcard, works with everything else. ahh!

I had a Sound Blaster card and returned it. If you research it you'll find that they advertised "for all newer G4s" when in fact they lie. the card only works on older G4s. It took a lot of "discussion" with my online vendor to convince them that this deceptive advertising is unfair to the consumer. Check out the boards at Creative Labs and you'll see them get blasted. Good luck...Dave

If you have a SBL for Mac you may want to read some of this: http://bbs.xlr8yourmac.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Audio+Topics&number=12[/URL]
