I'm having problems with the modifiers on the C|8?

Do they just work or do you have to config them?
I am running mac os 10.4.2 with a C|8 a 002r and a powerbook G4 1Ghz, 1 Gb RAM.

I follow the manual but nothing happens, I have calibrated the C|8 and all the controls work, just I'm not sure if these work or not.

They should work exactly as if you were pressing the equivalent key on your keyboard. Mine seem to.
