Default ENOUGH pops N clicks in sessions already!

i'm getting clicks n pops in both 6.7 and 6.9 on many of my sessions

i suspect amp farm but . . i'm not sure

the pops happane big time on session opening up and when i re position faders in new placement.

has this been milled over in here before.

at first i thought it was my 88.2 sessions from a template i use but now i 'm hearing it on the 44.1 from time to time....then other times it seems to fix itself...what's up with this?

this pops are a tannoy speaker lawsuit waiting to happen.

I would like to try to help you with this, but I need to know what troubleshooting you've tried and as much information about what is happening with your system as well as it's configuration.

Without a clear and concise way to reproduce the problem, we're just going to be shooting in the dark.

it will go away once you deleat your DAE preference, Digi setup and Pro-Tools 6.9 preferences. Dont'really know why but we here in La suspect it's curpt DAE. That will fix it thought.

Hey Jimi,

I once had a case of the 'random pops', turned out to be a bad ram module.

HTH.

did not have any today.

tonite is the south african rock band i'm producing.

every one of their sessions pops at 88.2

perhaps the 9.2 PT is not doing it now

today is my first on the clock session on the new tiger PT system

5 hours of vocals all successful

thanks digi

i keep hitting apple spacebar to record and launching than damn spotlight thing and there are a few other quirks but it ain't bad

To disable Spotlight, launch your Terminal (located in /Applications/Utilities/) and type the following:

sudo pico /etc/hostconfig

This will open up your hostconfig file, which tells OS X what processes to launch at startup. Scroll down the hostconfig file and find the line that reads SPOTLIGHT=-YES- and change it to SPOTLIGHT=-NO-. Close and save the file. If you don't know how to use pico, type man pico to read over it's man pages first. If you want to remove Spotlight from the menu bar, remove the file "Search.bundle" from the folder /System/Library/CoreServices, but keep it around somewhere in case you change your mind. When you reboot the computer Spotlight will not load.

If you ever want to re-enable Spotlight just go back through these steps and change NO back to YES and put "Search.bundle" back where it belongs.
