Default Protools Free & audio cards

has anyone gotten PtF to work with audio cards? I'm using the Korg 1212 IO (been using deck for years) and wanted to get it to work with PTF but am having no luck. Does LE work with this card? hate to waste that investment and my only option at this point is to stay w/Deck.

thanks.

Pro Tools LE run only with the Digi 001, the Audiomedia III and the new M-Box.
Pro Tools free run with some audio interfaces and sound cards (but not with the Korg 1212). For more information, see here: http://digiprotools.free.fr/frame24.html (the English version comming soon... 1st of February!).

so it looks like the Korg 1212 won't work with PTFree... so how is the recording quality if I use the built-in Mac G4 audio with PTFree?

thanks.

Did you ever get PT Free to work with an audio card? This is a topic of interest to me. I have been puzzling over how to record 8 tracks at the same time in PT Free. For what it's worth, I find that it's amazingly reliable to use PT Free on an old beige G3 Mac with the RCA stereo audio inputs. I run 8 mics into a mixer and then the two mixer outs into the RCA inputs. The A/D conversion is being done by the onboard 16-bit card in the G3. Of course, I can record only two tracks (the stereo RCA inputs) at a time, so my mix has to be good going into the G3.

Anyway, if anyone has any advice on recording eight tracks at the same time, I would love to hear it.

Thanks,
Jim

You can't record more than two tracks at the same time with PTfree (because PTfree use the SoundManager driver)
