Default Lost Plug-in Control

Hi, I seem to have lost the ability to control waves plugins (v4) as well as Sony Oxford EQ and some others with my Command 8/Mix+ setup running PT 6.4.1 on MAc OS 10.3.9
Any idea on why this would happen all of a sudden and how to remedy it?
thanks.

Do you have EQ III or DYNAMICS III installed?
If so they will cause this on 6.xx systems.
It can be caused by having any 7.xx capable plugs installed on a 6.xx system.
EQ III or DYNAMICS III being free are the typical ones that would show up on a 6.xx system.

I have EQ III installed so that must be the culprit, I will try without. The curious thing is that it was working fine for months till the other day...

Removed EQIII and trashed prefs and no change. Any other suggestions? When I select the plugins the name of the plug simply flashes instead of changing the display to plugin mode, like it does with massey and digi plugs...
thanks.

I experienced this problem with a MCU. original HUI as well as the C8 and it was caused by having any plugs installed that were 7.xx version capable the ones that look like a big black double 1/4 plug.
I had to revert them back to earlier versions if they are installed in your plug in folder and you use them in a session you get the problem.
It would affect my DUY, Waves Gold and something else I can't quite remember.
move your plugs to another folder and put them back one at a time until you find one that cases the problem.

PT 7.xx will fix this problem but you may have to alspurchase some updates for some of your plugs.

I am just confused why all of a sudden it stopped working. well I will try pulling out individual plugs and see what happens. Unfortunately I cannot upgrade to PT7 as I am running Mix Cards which only support up to 6.4.1
thanks again!

I have verified that the Massey plugs I own are causing the trouble on my system as the other plugs work fine on the command 8 when they are removed from the plugin folder. It's ironic, though, as they are specifically for PT 6.x

The problem is that soem of the 6.xx version are actually 7.xx capable so they are just like having a 7.xx installed.
It only shows up if your combination, placement and usage lines up a certain way, kinda like the perfect storm.
It has a lot to do with the order in which you initiate them in the session.
