Hello, I have a session with 2 wav files of 6meg, and 7 meg, that I need to send as an attachment in an email and I am not familiar yet how to compress them down or make MP3s out of them.I thought iTunes would do the conversion to MP3 but it wouldnt accept the files. Is there another MP3 software that I can get ?Thank You for any help and your time . best david phillips

Have you tried sending the files uncompressed using one of the P2P programs like ICQ or AIM? When the only burner I had was on the PC that was how I used to send the files (30~40 megs) from the Mac to the PC...

Yes, they are free, ICQ is probably the most popular peer-to-peer (P2P) program - most people use them for chatting but you can transfer files from one computer to another, as long as they are both logged on at the same time, like chatting. I used AIM, AOL's version because ICQ didn't like the network router that I was using...

The Problem with that is that I am sending it to a radio station where no one is home,so we cannot log on at the same time.Is there any kind of software that can convert it to MP3?

Well I don't use ITunes that much, but I have made MP3s with it. Are the .wav files stereo interleaved, or mono files? If they are mono this may be why ITunes doesn't like them. Anyway, I can't stay to see you through this glitch, maybe someone else can take up the slack. AFAIK you should be able to convert the files in ITunes and just drag them to your email message...

I believe that exporting as stereo interleaved 44.1 will work. It's been a while since I did it, but I have definitely used itunes to turn files from protools into MP3s .

iTunes is your friend, In preferences, change the import command to mp3.

Hope this is helpful.
