This is probably old knowledge now but if you havent already tried the ac1 and filter bank plugs, you ARE missing out on getting terific analog sounds , great filters and the best part is the minimalistic cpu usage will make you wonder how come the waves and others are such hogs.
Really, try the plugs and be amazed,I am keen to hear others comments about these, especially the ac1. AJ

I too am a fan of McDSP. Their multiband compressors work very nicely and sound great as do their EQ's. These and Waves are my most used plugins. And I agree about the CPU usage. They are very efficient.

The efficiency thing blows me away,
I put a ac1 on all channels and getting the mix up to speed in half the time. The ac1 simply helps more than any other plug that I use, the good thing is you can use heaps of them and not strain the box. I'm rambling, maybee they will give me a job doing thier promo and chuck in some free plugs for my effort. Aj

I use that "ugly green comp" on just about every session myself...
It's NOT a transparent compressor, it's a "character" compressor; it makes things "fat". For transparency, I'll use either the Waves C1 or RenComp.

Ditto, lwilliam.
Actually I've taken a bit of a liking to the interface of the 'ugly green comp'. Personally, I find it quite intuitive. It does what I want predictably and with a minimum of fuss. BTW - ajazzie, I love your bagpipes quote How true.

Love the filterbank.
I personally think McDSP plug-in interfaces are the most well designed of all the plugins I've tried. I really like the MC2000 also. I'm kinda interested in their Synthesiser 1 aswell. Anyone here tried it. Will it become availiable for RTAS Mr McDSP? Nocturnal |

I just started using the AC1 & AC2. These are "must have" plugins! They impart awesome character to any sound.
