Help Please! Pro Tools says it's losing connection with my 002.

Hi,

I have an older set up that I've been using for a few years to make home recordings and demos. I'm running Pro Tools LE 6.4 with a Digi 002 console through a PC, and it has always worked fine. Lately however, randomly in a session it will flash a message along the lines of, "Pro Tools has lost connection with the Digi 002 hardware. Please check the connection and restart." Sometimes it happens just seconds into the session, other times it lets me work for about an hour before doing so. When it flashes this message, the screen on the 002 says Validating.... but never moves past that phase.

Also, there was one instance where I was going to try to use the console in Standalone mode and the little screens above each channel displayed just a bunch of random dots and it never entered Standalone mode. I'm not so much concerned about this problem because I never really need the console for Standalone, but I didn't know if maybe these two problems were connected, since they both started occuring at the same time?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm falling behind on song ideas with this thing on the fritz!!!

I would suspect a power harness issue first. Get ahold of digi customer support talk you through the diagnoses
