Can anyone tell me if it's possible to buy a Kick Pad for an electric/Midi drum kit and use it plugged directly into the MIDI-In port of my DELTA 1010LT with M-Powered (without a "brain" that's usually associated with such full kits).
I want to be able to play a miked real snare and hats with brushes while at the same time playing kick drum from the trigger pad into a Midi Track in MP- .......do any of you have experience with such setups?...... thanks in advance...

Not going to work. You have to have a drum module or a dedicated trigger to midi converter. Triggers plug into the module or TMC, you adjust all the settings to get good triggering, select a midi note for each pad to send, and then connect the out of the module/TMC to the midi in of your 1010.
Take a look at the Roland TMC-6 or the Alesis Trigger I/O. You could also use just about any drum module ever made. J |

thanks Jrummer...I Googled both of them - have you used either of them yourself -
the TMC-6 has 6 inputs, 2 of which seem to be dedicated for the hats the Alesis iO has 10 inputs, is cheaper and comes with BFD Lite (which I already have anyway) So, if I got one of these units, does it mean I can get a Kick Trigger Pad, and then other pads as I want, and using the MidiOut of the unit, play the Kick sounds from BFD or EZdrummer or such, and record it as a Midi track?
