Default Auto tune 4 vs. Pitch Doctor vs. PurePitch ect...

I need to find an effective easy to use pluggin for intonation and pitch correction. I need a pluggin that can correct problems on the fly for all instruments not just voice. I may need to use it for complex samples as well. What are the pro's and cons of each? I am leaning towards Auto Tune 4 because it seems to be the industry standard but are the other choices just as good or better? Is Auto Tune 4 the standard because of marketing or am I on the right track? Incidentally I already own Speed but it doesn't really accomplish what I am needing to do in many instances.

There is no perfect option. Auto Tune is the big dog in the game but I have seen Pitch Doctor work when Auto Tune just couldn't do the job.

The best plan is to have mutable programs.

All of them require tweaking so it won't be slap on and forget.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by mutable programs. Can you explain?

Hello,

Since purchasing pitch doctor i rarely use autotue now! most of my tuning work is vocals and pitch doctor works better for vocals! an A/B test showed i was getting some chipmunk/cher effect with autotune and i wasn't getting this with pitch doctor.

Pitch doctor uses a whole processor chip? autotune uses 50% of a chip. i'll keep autotune for when i'm short of processing power.

Regards

Chris

Pitch Dr. and Melodyne in tandem can yield really amazing results even in bad cases. Takes tweaking though, no doubt about it.....
